According to this article, our beautiful and talented Monica will be starring in a new movie project alongside Oscar winner Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardener, Constantine), Vanessa Redgrave (Evening, Atonement), David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck, The Bourne Ultimatum) and Serbian actor Sergej Trifunovic.

The title of this new film is The Whistleblowers, which is a slang word for those who cause uproar. It will be directed by Larysa Kondracki, a young director and script writer from Ukraine. It is based on a true story, and follows the life of Kathryn (played by Rachel Weisz), a clerk employed in the UN in Bosnia during the war. She discovers what is happening on the so-called Arizona market, the base of KFOR, on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where bracelets and discs are sold during the day, while at night its main activity consists in human trafficking for the whole region. The UN soldiers earn a significant sum of money for their share in that business. As a reward, Kathryn gets “fired”, and the whole case is hidden from the public eye. Trifunovic plays the role of a Bosnian policeman, the only person willing to help her.

Although at this time we can not confirm the news, it definitely seems like a very interesting project. Plus, the cast is really awsome. It will be nice to see Monica working on screen with A-list stars such as Weisz, Redgrave and Strathairn.

And finally, Monica Bellucci in Rebecca Miller’s The Private Lives of Pippa Lee: 134 screencaptures are now in the gallery. As you can see her role is very small. In fact, she has no more than five minutes on screen, but she is absolutely stunning as the rich and sultry Gigi, who losts her husband Herb Lee (Alan Arkin) to the young Pippa (Blake Lively).

Here is to you the very first HQ promo still from Giuseppe Tornatore’s Baarìa, out now in italian theatres. We are looking forward to see the Italian director’s latest masterpiece and let you know more about Mrs. Bellucci’s role. Looks like she is wearing the same outfit she wore in one scene of Malèna, back in 2000!

Monica and husband Vincent Cassel are planning on sharing the screen once again. No title has been announced for this movie, which is still in pre-production. All we know is that it’s a romantic comedy, and that it will be directed by the couple’s friend Kim Chapiron (director of Sheitan). Filming should start next year.

The trailer for the lastest film from Giuseppe Tornatore (director of Malèna) has been released. Monica can be briefly spotted in the trailer, but don’t even blink, ’cause it’s a matter of seconds!

Tornatore’s latest film, Baaria – La Porta del Vento, will open this year’s Venice Film Festival with its world premiere. Monica plays a very small role in the movie (it actually feels more like a cameo), so we can’t be certain she’s going to attend the event.
