November 18, 2009
The Private Lives of Pippa Lee is opening Friday Nov. 27 in US theaters! Even though Ms. Bellucci has a very small role in it, American fans should not miss this. The film and Monique are getting rave reviews:
“Monica Bellucci is magnetic as a bonkers ex”
“In addition to the always wonderful Arkin, plus a hilarious brittle role for Ryder, there are telling cameos from Moore (as a rebellious ‘aunt’), Bellucci (as a sexy ex)”
“There’s also terrific support from a note-perfect supporting cast that includes Arkin (who has chemistry with both Penn and Lively), Reeves, Moore, Bello, a super-sultry Bellucci”
“A strong supporting cast, including stunning Blake Lively as a young Pippa, Julianne Moore, Winona Ryder and Monica Bellucci, do a decent job.”
“It’s a simply wonderful cast. [...] and Monica Bellucci’s glamourous, drama-queen heiress Gigi who has her own ideas about divorce. (The lavish lunch Gigi organises before promising a divorce – involving a pig, a cow and a gun – is unforgettable.)”
“With these two at the film’s centre, and Keanu Reeves, Monica Bellucci, Maria Bello, Julianne Moore and Winona Ryder in supporting roles, there was never going to be much messing about – the ensemble playing is first-class throughout.”
“Buttressed by a formidable cast (including Winona Ryder as Pippa’s neurotic friend and Monica Bellucci as Herb’s first wife)”
“[...] but underpinning it all is the fine cast (there are striking turns, additionally, from Winona Ryder as Pippa’s absent-minded friend and Monica Bellucci as Herb’s first wife)”
“What Miller’s movie does possess in spades is a spry, oddball streak of humour and an assembly line of funky character parts for cool, charisma-packed actresses like Maria Bello, Winona Ryder, Julianne Moore and Monica Bellucci, who keep the blood pumping”
